Research in Discourse and Pragmatics

Discourse is a very important research specialty of the department of Linguistics at UB. Examples of current research includes the study of discourse and narratives (Zubin), the relation between syntax and discourse (Dryer), how discourse structure helps inferring temporal structure or filling in underspecified semantic representations (Koenig), or the use of discourse contexts in the processing of relative clauses (Roland).
