Joint Major in Linguistics and another area

Joint Major programs are available in all tracks, and require 24 credit hours in Linguistics. The Major often combines Linguistics with another Social Science (e.g., Anthropology, CDS, Psychology), with English or Modern Language in a Joint or Double major program.

Acceptance criteria for Linguistics
Permission of the Directors of Undergraduate Studies from both participating departments; minimum 2.0 overall GPA; minimum 2.5 GPA in LIN 205 and 207

Requirements for Linguistics

  • Core Linguistics courses (12 credits): LIN 205, LIN 207, LIN 301, LIN 302
  • Four additional Linguistics courses to be chosen in consultation with the Director of Undergraduate Studies of Linguistics
