My overall research interests span Semantics, the interface between
Syntax and Semantics, the organization and processing of Lexical and
Syntactic knowledge, Gricean Pragmatics, and Natural Language Processing.
My current research focuses on the following issues:
- Theories of lexical
knowledge and lexical productivity (see Koenig
(1999) for a relevant summary of my research in this area)
- The interface between
argument structure and subcategorization (or linking constraints) (see
Davis and
Koenig (2000) and Koenig
and Davis (2001) for recent research in this area)
- The interaction
between lexical semantics and discourse (see Koenig
and Mauner (1999) and Koenig
and Muansuwan (In Press) for recent illustrations)
- The role of lexical
information in Morphological and Sentence Processing (see Mauner
and Koenig (2000) and Melinger
and Koenig (2000) for recent papers in this area)
I am currently a
member of the Psycholinguistics
Laboratory and of the Semantic
Network Processing System Research Group.
